Why have a women’s session?

Life’s chapters whizz by in a blur, shaping and defining us – but while women take care to record the milestones of loved-ones, we often overlook our own journey. A women’s session is the chance to take a little time out to remember who we are at this point in our lives. It is not vanity. It is ensuring that you too are recorded in the most beautiful, natural and ‘you’ kind of way. A million miles away from a phone selfie.

People book a women’s shoot for a variety of different reasons, a significant birthday, a forthcoming wedding (gift to the groom), a girly get together or hen do or simply for themselves to look back on when they are old and grey. A reminder that not only were they a mother, friend, grandmother and wife but a woman in her own right. A beautiful, strong woman who should be captured for all time.

How It Works:

Many find the idea of a women’s shoot a little daunting but it needn’t be. I will personally guide you through the process from booking, preparing for your shoot, the shoot itself, viewing your images through to selecting a beautiful end product.

It all begins with a pre shoot consultation on the phone/ email to determine exactly how you’d like to be photographed in terms of style, location, hair, make up and outfits. With this planned out beforehand we are ahead of the game by the time we start shooting. You will be amazed at how quickly you start to relax and enjoy the process as I guide you through to create some beautiful candid imagery.

After your shoot I will post produce your images to create pieces of artwork which will be presented to you on a password protected online gallery. From here you can choose your favourite images. I will work with you to craft them into a beautiful product of your choosing whether that be wall art, books, albums or simply archive quality prints.

And that’s you done. Captured for all time.

Packages

I offer a range of packages for our women’s sessions depending on the time and variety of images that you need. To find a session length that suits you please see the packages below. All of our women’s packages include as standard:

Pre shoot consultation to build a shoot unique to you.
All post production to create pieces of beautiful artwork.
Low res digital files of any image purchased as a product. These are suitable for sharing on social media or use on your phone.
Option to buy piece by piece from our beautiful product range.

The Bespoke Session: £350

A 2 hour self-indulgent session for one or share with a friend or enjoy and ‘Mother and Daughter’ day.

Includes (in addition to the basics above):

A 2 hour private shoot allowing time to relax into the shoot and for 4-5 outfit changes.
Two stunning fine art prints (7x5in) on beautiful textured fine art paper (similar to those that your grandmother would have had printed).
A selection of your best images (30-40) available to view on a password protected online gallery.

Mini Sessions: £175

A 1-hour session for those individuals looking for just a small selection of images from their session. Suits those who can arrange their own location whether that be in their own home, a hotel room or access to any other suitable venue.

Includes (in addition to the basics above):

1 hour private shoot (1-2 outfit changes).
One stunning fine art print (7x5in) on beautiful textured fine art paper (similar to those that your grandmother would have had printed).
A selection of your best images (15-20) available to view on a password protected online gallery.

Girls’ Day Out / Hen Do: £125pp (min 3 people)

Make a day of it – bring bubbles, nibbles, hair and makeup ladies and a gaggle of friends for a fantastic day of pampering. Leave glamorous and ready for a night out on the tiles with some beautiful artwork in the bag to keep forever!

Includes:

Approximately 1 hour shoot time each.
One stunning fine art print (7x5in) on beautiful textured fine art paper (similar to those that your grandmother would have had printed).
A selection of your best images (15-20 each) available to view on a password protected online gallery.

Products

Having captured some beautiful imagery, I will spend time post producing a set of images to create pieces of individual artwork styled just for you. You can find out more about how these can be crafted into beautiful products here.

I contacted Perspectives Photography at short notice for a photo shoot that was a cross between “Women” and “Mother and Daughter” I didn’t really know what I wanted other than to celebrate my 48th and my daughter’s 22nd birthday, which happen to fall on the same day. We wanted to capture the real us. Jess made a huge effort to understand what we wanted and pulled out all the stops to secure a suitable venue in time for our birthday. Despite us both being hugely camera shy, Jess made us feel at ease. Her natural warmth coupled with exceptional camera skills resulted in two beautiful albums that we will cherish for life.

I was really glad that Jess encouraged us to bring several changes of clothes and a couple of relevant props. These enabled both variety and a realistic opportunity to capture us doing our thing.

I was particularly impressed by the versatility that Jess managed to create within the shoot. The venue by coincidence, happened to lend itself to more outdoor photo opportunities than we were expecting. Jess’ quick creative thinking ended up providing us with an even more inspired and varied photo shoot. It felt free and spontaneous which all added to the wonderful experience.
