FAQs about our womens sessions
1. Can I buy a gift voucher?
Yes you can purchase a gift voucher by visiting our online shop. Once you have made a payment online you will receive a beautifully presented gift certificate in the post for you to give. Alternatively leave a note at the checkout and we can arrange to email you a digital version if your friends or family are abroad.
2. Who organises the hair and make up?
We have a small selection of our favourite hair and make up ladies who we use for our women’s sessions. We are happy to pass their details on to you to check their prices and availability directly. You are of course welcome to bring your own hair and make up lady or do your own if you prefer.
3. What is the difference between the mini session and the bespoke package?
The main difference between these sessions is the length of time that I am shooting for and consequently the amount and variety of images that I can provide for you. The bespoke session is a more relaxed experience with more time for outfit/ style changes to give you more variety.
The mini sessions are designed for those wanting just a handful of images allowing for 1 or 2 outfit changes.
4. Where do you shoot your women’s sessions?
We shoot all of our sessions out on location. Where you choose to shoot will depend on the feeling that you’d like to create with your photographs. You may choose to shoot at home or use another venue that you know of like a hotel room (please arrange payment of these directly with the hotel).
If you are after something simple that is just about you and not so much about background then we have the option to bring a simple grey backdrop. All we need then is some window light. Simple backdrops can work well but require a certain amount of confidence to carry it off as there are less props for you to work with.
Those looking for a hen day may consider asking their wedding venue about the potential to use it for a day.
5. How much retouching do you do and is it included in the price?
Whilst all images are post produced to create a certain look to the imagery, the overall feel for the images is very natural so I don’t do much in the way of skin smoothing etc. That said, if you have issues with scars, blemishes, stretch marks or bruises that you’d like addressing then please do talk to me about it at the shoot. The emphasis is on creating flattering poses and lighting to highlight your best features rather than doing lots of post production and body re shaping afterwards. If there’s something you feel particularly self-conscious about please let me know.
6. When do I make payment?
I ask that you make the full session fee payment at the time of booking and before your shoot. Payment for any products purchased after your session can be made at the point of ordering online.
7. Will my images be used on your website?
Women’s images are often very personal to my clients so please know that your images will remain private to you. I will never use your images on my website gallery or social media unless you have expressly given your permission in writing. If you are proud of your imagery and would like to feature on our blog/ gallery or facebook page then please do let me know as showing images is a great way of showing what can be achieved in these sessions.
8. I'm not very confident and worried I won't look as good as the women on your website galleries
I love to work with real women like those on my website. Like you and me they have gone through hair and makeup and carefully selected their outfit giving consideration to their final look. I will guide you with the posing of your images to achieve the most flattering shapes and light but the best pictures will come from when you are relaxed and natural so I wont be prodding you into any ridiculous positions. You don’t even have to look at the camera if you don’t want to! You will find as the session progresses you will build in confidence and really start to enjoy your session.
If you are really nervous then I would suggest going for a longer session time to allow more time for you to relax into the session and take your time with each element of the shoot.
9. Do you offer semi nude photographs?
I do indeed offer semi nude photography I just choose not to display it on my website. If you are interested in some tasteful semi nudes then please ask and we can build it into your session.
10. Can I share my images on social media?
Yes! You will be supplied with a low resolution thumbnail sized image of any images that you purchase as part of your product or print. You are welcome to share on social media. I am always grateful for any credits or links to my business pages.
11. If we order a book or album can we choose our images?
Yes if you order a book or album you can select your images from your online gallery and save them to your favourites folder. I will then take your final list and design your layouts adjusting colours and cropping to make beautiful spreads. You will have the opportunity to review these spreads and suggest any adjustments required before it is sent to print.
12. How do we choose our images?
Once your images have been post produced you will receive an email with a link to an online gallery. Here you can view and order your prints and digital files. You will have the option to leave notes on an image of anything specific with the post production.
13. What is the turn around times for your products?
Once you have signed off your design work at the preview stage we aim to get your books and albums ready for collection from the studio within 6 weeks and frames within 4 weeks. Prints are usually turned around within 2-3 weeks.
If you have any further queries that are not answered above then please do get in touch and I can advise you.
